5 Good Reasons to Have your Next Holiday to India

I have never met anyone who doesn’t like to travel. I don’t believe that there is a person in this world that will say no to a trip to anywhere. Of course, I may be wrong, but I want to believe that everyone has a thirst for cultural differences and leaving his or her world behind.

India is a crowded country, that much we know, but there is a ton of reasons why you should go there at least once in your life. A lot of people are currently skeptical about such an adventurous destination, mostly because they have common misconceptions regarding the living conditions. For those people, I have just one thing to say: India is not just one big slum. I am not going to deny their existence, but at the same time, there are hundreds of beautiful locations that will take your breath away.

Top 5 reasons why you should go to India

The Taj Mahal

Who wouldn’t like to visit the world’s biggest token of love? The marble mausoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial for his favorite wife and is one of the most beautiful architectural wonders on earth. For me, the Taj Mahal is reason enough to get on a plane.

The local cuisine

In the United States and Europe, there are a lot of restaurants that serve Indian food, and a lot of people like it. In India is called just food and is the best you will ever have. It depends on which region you choose to visit. In the north, moderately spicy curry is on almost everything. In the South, however, food is a little bit spicier, and it relies on rice, coconut, and seafood.

The Ganges

This river might as well be the holiest river in the world. At least for Indian people. They see it not only as a means of sustenance but also as a pathway to heaven. They burn the corpses of their loved ones on the Ganges banks, and then they throw the ashes into the river. Hindus believe that if they do that, the souls are taken into Heaven, and they escape the cycle of rebirth. It’s a beautiful and highly spiritual ceremony.

Rajasthan is a province in Northern India. You can see a lot of opulent palaces and majestic forts. It’s the land of Moguls and Maharajas. It is said that there is more history in Rajasthan than in all of India combined. You can enjoy camel rides, purchase precious jewels, or just go into the desert for breathtaking scenery.

It’s simple to get a Visa

Let’s get practical, shall we? Traveling often requires planning ahead because you need to take care of documentation. Sometimes months in advance. However, India is one of the countries that release e-visas. All you have to do is complete an India e-visa application and then submit it. You can have it in as little as 18 hours. I only wish all countries allowed this.

As you can imagine, these five things I mentioned don’t even begin to cover the vast number of reasons, including the endless Indian festivals,  for which you should visit India. The religion and spirituality, the southern beaches, the history, and architecture make India one of the richest countries in the world, culturally speaking.
